Now in its 23rd year, the Council of Asian Pacific Americans (CAPA) proudly presents its signature event, “Splendor of the East.” CAPA’s much anticipated annual cultural showcase will take place at Madison Place on Saturday May 18, 2024, from 6:00 PM. onwards
This year’s Splendor of the East theme of Exquisite aims to highlight the rebirth of ourselves and Taste of Asia as we head into our 3rd decade of SOE!
The event will bring together the music, art and talent of Michigan’s Asian Pacific American community and rich cultural heritage and will be a spectacular homage to conquering the difficulties of the past couple years and a celebration of love shining through to bring hopes of a brighter future!

Month of May is the Asian Pacific American Heritage month. Designated by President Bush as such since 1999, the Michigan Asian Pacific community had been celebrating the month-long yearly event with a cultural show showcasing their many cultures with a variety show aptly named Splendor of the East.

An extraordinary collaboration of cultural depictions through dance and music from China, India, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Polynesia, Taiwan, Vietnam and other non-Asian Pacific countries. Splendor of the East will entice your senses with both a traditional and contemporary composition of artistry.
The Asian Pacific American community in Michigan is growing in numbers and in strength, and continues to contribute to the state’s economy, diversity, and vitality. Your support for initiatives and events, such as Splendor of the East, is greatly appreciated.
