DeVont’e Rucker

Communications & Marketing Co-Chair

Originally from Beloit, Wisconsin, DeVont’e Rucker moved to Michigan at age 10. Surrounded by people of various ethnicities growing up, he formed an appreciation for other cultures and spreading diversity. In high school, DeVont’e started developing his passion for leadership and community-building where he was an honor roll student, served on student council, played football, and was accepted to Avondale’s Leadership Program. DeVont’e was previously a manager for a pet memorial services company where he worked for over 13 years before transitioning to the construction industry. In his spare time, DeVont’e enjoys working out, making music, cooking, and learning about foreign cultures. He prioritizes being of service to the community and volunteers at the Philippine American Cultural Center of Michigan and other organizations around metro-Detroit.

As a board member of the Council of Asian Pacific Americans, DeVont’e brings his dedication, resilience, and appreciation of APA culture to CAPA.
