Formed in 2000, CAPA strives to unite Asian Pacific Americans
and the community at large through culture, education, and
community service. Annual events such as Splendor of the
East, APA Leadership Summit, and Simply the Best are growing
more and more successful each year.
The 2012-2013 board of directors is excited to expand new community and education initiatives and build a stronger Asian Pacific American community in Michigan.
Splendor of the East:
This year’s event theme is: Crossroads - “Cultural Influences” Part II of the sequel as the evolution continues to promote friendship and building bridges - we can look back in time and learn that today “we can sing one song and touch the world.”
Crossroads - Cultural Influences is an extraordinary cultural melding of traditional and contemporary arrangements that allows the transformation of intriguing cultural influences and history on stage. It is a journey to experience with fascinating world-beat from faraway places like China, India, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Polynesia and Taiwan. The different collaboration of music and dance will captivate your senses as you appreciate the richness and beauty of the cultural history from across the globe.
The Asian Pacific American community in Michigan is growing
in numbers and in strength, and continues
to contribute to the state’s economy, diversity, and
vitality. Your support for initiatives and events, such as
Splendor of the East, is greatly appreciated.
We hope you will join us at the Splendor of the East 2013!
DISCLOSURE: Splendor of the East promotes cultural diversity. The pre-selection of the performers are not limited to Asian/Pacific cultural groups only. On behalf of the CAPA board and sponsors we welcome all cultural genres.
